About Our Firm

Do I need a lawyer?

While not every family law matter requires an attorney, having experienced legal representation can make a significant difference. A lawyer can help protect your rights, navigate legal procedures, and advocate for your best interests. Even in amicable cases, an attorney ensures that agreements are legally sound and enforceable. If you’re unsure whether you need a lawyer, scheduling a free case evaluation can help you understand your options.

What makes Provinziano & Associates different from other family law firms?

Provinziano & Associates is known for its high-stakes litigation experience, hands-on approach, and commitment to achieving favorable resolutions for our clients.

Our firm was founded by Alphonse Provinziano, a seasoned trial attorney who personally appears in court for select complex cases, and provides strategic direction on all firm matters. His oversight ensures that every client benefits from his trial-tested advocacy, extensive experience, and hands-on leadership, whether through his direct representation or the work of our skilled legal team.

With a commitment to excellence, our attorneys provide top-tier advocacy, delivering personalized and effective legal solutions for every case.

Our firm is also uniquely positioned to manage complex cases, such as high-conflict disputes, high-net-worth divorces, and international family law matters. When financial stakes are high, we often work with forensic accountants, business valuation experts, and financial strategists to help protect our clients’ assets and interests.

Most importantly, we recognize that family law cases are deeply personal. We maintain strict confidentiality, offer clear and proactive communication, and develop legal strategies tailored to each client’s long-term goals.

How long has your firm been handling family law cases?

Provinziano & Associates has been dedicated exclusively to family law for over a decade, providing skilled legal representation to clients throughout California. Our attorneys have built a strong reputation in local courts through their experience handling a wide range of family law matters, from high-asset divorces to complex custody disputes.

This depth of experience allows us to anticipate potential challenges and develop legal strategies tailored to each client’s unique situation. Our firm’s longevity reflects our commitment to professionalism, client-focused advocacy, and legal excellence.

Do you only take cases in California?

Yes. Our firm exclusively handles family law cases under California law. However, we also assist clients with cases that involve international or out-of-state elements but remain within California’s jurisdiction. This includes matters such as divorce, support, custody disputes, asset division, and the enforcement of California court orders across borders.

Client Experience

What can I expect during my first case evaluation?

Our firm offers a free two-step case evaluation to ensure you receive the right guidance for your situation.

The first step is the Initial Case Evaluation, a complimentary meeting with an experienced team member who will listen to your situation, gather essential details, answer preliminary questions, and help you understand what to expect moving forward.

If your case qualifies, you will proceed to the Attorney Consultation with one of our attorneys. During this evaluation, we take a deeper look at your legal matter, provide a clear breakdown of anticipated costs, and answer any additional questions you may have.

If you decide to move forward, our team begins working immediately to develop a personalized legal strategy tailored to your needs.

Will an attorney handle my case personally, or will it be assigned to a team?

Your case will be managed by a dedicated attorney who will oversee all critical legal decisions and strategies. While our legal team, including paralegals and support staff, may assist with certain aspects of your case, your attorney will remain actively involved and ensure that you receive skilled representation throughout the process.

What if my case requires urgent legal action?

We take emergency situations seriously and act quickly to protect our clients’ interests. If your case requires immediate legal action, such as a restraining order or an emergency custody hearing, we will assess the situation and determine the best course of action as soon as possible. However, if your case is scheduled for court on very short notice, it may be challenging to provide the level of preparation and strategy we strive for. To ensure the best possible representation, we encourage clients to reach out as soon as they anticipate needing legal assistance.

How will I be able to contact the attorney or a team member of the Provinziano Legal Team?

Clients will always speak to a professional staff member upon calling the Provinziano office. All calls will be returned promptly, typically within 24 hours or less.

Upon hiring our firm, clients receive the direct email addresses of their assigned team members and are encouraged to reach out with any questions. Clients may also call our main office line, where our receptionist team will promptly route their call to the appropriate team member at any point during their case.

The Provinziano Legal Team cares about every client and their case. To us, clients aren’t numbers – they’re people. Our clients often entrust us with their lives, which is a relationship we take very seriously.

How will you update me on my case?

Clients can expect the Provinziano Legal Team to update them regularly as their case progresses through the legal system. Clients can also expect periodic written reports and statements of their accounts, and will be notified of upcoming court dates.

In preparation for court hearings, the Provinziano Legal Team will meet with the client personally to fully prepare the client for court and explain the possible outcomes.

In accordance with our philosophy, the client will also be able to call and set appointments to speak personally with Mr. Provinziano and the Provinziano Legal Team Members and will have access to their direct contact information.

At Provinziano & Associates, our mission is to treat our clients as we would want to be treated and to provide every client with excellent, personalized service.

Do I have to attend court?

In most California family law matters, the Provinziano Legal Team does not require your in-person attendance at court unless specifically mandated by the judge. Many hearings can be attended remotely via Zoom or telephone, and we frequently arrange for our clients to appear this way when permitted.

While remote appearances are commonly allowed, it is ultimately up to the judge’s discretion based on the nature of the hearing.

If you live out of state or have difficulty appearing in person, we can request remote access on your behalf. While not guaranteed, these requests are routinely granted, especially when compelling reasons are presented (e.g., travel constraints, medical needs, military deployment).

We will always advise you ahead of time whether your appearance is required and work with the court to request remote options when available.

What has been your historical success in legal matters?

The Provinziano Legal Team has a strong record of success in family law cases. While no outcome can be guaranteed, our past results reflect our dedication and experience. We encourage you to review our case results and client testimonials to see how we have helped others in similar situations.

Costs & Payments

How much does it cost to hire your firm?

Clients are required to pay an initial retainer before work begins, which typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000 or more, depending on the complexity of the case. This retainer is held in a trust account and used for the time spent on your matter.

Hourly rates range from $490 to $900, depending on which attorney handles your case. For more details, visit our Attorney Pricing FAQ.

Do you offer payment plans or flexible billing options?

Yes. We understand that legal costs can be a concern, which is why we offer flexible payment arrangements in certain cases. We offer financing options and can discuss them with you during the consultation.

Will I be charged for phone calls or emails with my attorney?

Legal fees typically cover the time spent on your case, including consultations, phone calls, and emails. However, we are transparent about our billing practices, and we will discuss how communication time is billed so you can make informed decisions about your case management.

Can I get an estimate of my total legal costs upfront?

While it is difficult to predict the total cost of a case due to variables such as court proceedings, negotiations, and unforeseen complexities, we will provide you with an initial estimate based on similar cases. We also keep clients informed of any changes in costs throughout the process.

Confidentiality & Privacy

Will my case be kept private, even in high-profile situations?

Yes. We understand the importance of discretion, particularly in high-profile or high-net-worth cases. While some court records are public by law, we take every possible measure to keep your case as private as the process allows. From how we communicate to how we file, discretion is built into everything we do.

What is Provinziano & Associates’ commitment to attorney-client confidentiality?

We understand that discussing sensitive legal matters can be difficult. At Provinziano & Associates, attorney-client privilege ensures that anything you discuss with us remains strictly confidential. This includes case evaluations, consultations, case strategy, and any legal matters handled by our team. If issues arise during litigation that may expose sensitive information, we will work closely with you to develop a strategy to minimize public disclosure and protect your privacy.

Getting Started

How do I schedule a case evaluation?

You can schedule a free case evaluation by calling our office or submitting a request through our website. Our online scheduling system allows you to select a time that works best for you from our available calendar. Once scheduled, a member of our team will connect with you to discuss your situation and next steps.

What should I bring to my first meeting?

For Your Case Evaluation:
You do not need any formal documents for your initial case evaluation. However, it is helpful to have a clear understanding of your situation, including key dates, any existing legal proceedings (including case numbers for ongoing cases), and the main concerns you want to address. This will allow our team to provide better guidance on your next steps.

For Your Initial Strategy Session (After Hiring):
Once you have retained our firm, we will need relevant legal documents to build your case effectively. These may include court filings, financial records, agreements, and any communication related to your case. If your case is ongoing, bringing evidence such as emails, text messages, or financial statements may also be important. If you are unsure what to provide, our team will give you a detailed list based on your specific situation.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes. We offer virtual consultations for clients who prefer to meet remotely. This option ensures convenience and privacy while allowing us to provide the same high level of legal guidance.

How quickly can you start working on my case?

Once you have signed a retainer agreement and paid the advance fee, the Provinziano Legal Team will begin working on your case immediately.

During this time, we will provide you with a personalized case-specific strategy and a timetable so you know what to expect as the case progresses through the court system. If your case requires immediate attention, rest assured that the Provinziano Legal Team will take quick action to effectively address your legal problem and represent you in court.

While we always recommend allowing ample time for case preparation, we understand that legal emergencies happen. In certain situations, we have been able to step in on short notice and develop effective legal strategies under tight deadlines. If you have an urgent legal matter, contact us as soon as possible so we can assess your options and determine the best course of action for your case.
